| 1) | Very good puzzle which put up a fight right to the penultimate box. Keep 'em coming, but I don't agree with the "Numbers may be repeated in colour regions as long as they do not break any of the traditional sudoku rules." rule. See all the flak that puzzle 91 int The Times book generated. JOE Comment by: joecz. Made on the 27th Jan 2006. |
| 2) | Very challenging puzzle! The rule "Numbers may be repeated in colour regions as long as they do not break any of the traditional sudoku rules" is evident. The only thing the colour regions do is to indicate the sum of the numbers contained in it, and there is no reason at all that numbers in a same coloured region should be different if they are in separate rows, colums or 3X3 square. | 3) | I think this puzzle has multiple solutions. If you set row six to 2-9-5-1-4-7-8-6-3, the rest of the grid will fall out into a second solution. Please let me know if I'm wrong. Comment by: Brandon. Made on the 08th May 2006. |
| 4) | I withdraw my earlier statement. I was looking at it for too long and found the answer. Comment by: Brandon. Made on the 11th May 2006. |
| 5) | I know it's been said before, but I am not a fan of being able to repeat numbers in a cage so long as traditional sudoku rules apply. I'm glad I came on here to see that obviously it was allowed - I was pulling my hair out! Comment by: Natasha Green. Made on the 08th Feb 2008. |

To solve the puzzle you must make sure that every column, row and 3x3 box in each larger 9x9 grid contains the numbers 1 through to 9. The colours on the puzzle are the cages which all contain a small number which is the sum total of all the squares in that caged area. (The puzzles is basically a combination of a Samurai Sudoku puzzle and a Killer Sudoku Puzzle.)
Almost all of the puzzles can be solved using logic alone and there is no need to guess. A puzzle can take from 1 hour to almost a day to complete depending on its level and your experience. More on the rules and tips for quick solving can be found here.
The puzzles along with their solutions can be found on this site.
